A rare Swedish cover, a Facit 2f Mountain Post letter dated July 23, 1857 and originally intended for delivery to Repvåg in the Norwegian mainland was sold in AB Philea’s auction on 15 May 2010.

Very few Norwegian letters with foreign postage are known to exist., This cover is the only known Swedish letter posted outside of the country which bears the blue fyraskilling banco stamp.

This is one of only two known examples of the $4 Pony Express stamp on cover. Part of the Thurston Twigg-Smith Pony Express Collection, this cover was sold in a Robert A. Siegel auction on 5 December for US$632,500. Total realizations came to nearly US$4 million.
