The Macau Post Office will issue a set of 4 bird stamps on 11 September 2011. The birds featured are:
Light-vented Bulbul / Pycnonotus sinensis
Spotted Dove / Streptopelia chinensis
Yellow Bittern / Lxobrychus sinensis
Greater Coucal / Centropus sinensis
As with all WWF stamp issues, there will be first day covers and maximum cards.

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the WWF, Liechtenstein Post will issue a set of eight hexagonal bird stamps in a sheet on 9 September 2011.
The birds depicted are: Hobby, Redstart, Nightingale, Red-backes shrike, Oriole, Whinchat, Pygmy owl and the Wryneck
Also available will be first day covers and eight beautiful maximum cards.




Australia Post is celebrating this milestone with a joint territories stamp issue featuring animals on stamps from Australia, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands and the Australian Antarctic Territory.

Date of issue will be 30 August 2011. There will be 4 minisheets, each containing the same 4 stamps but a different background image representing each territory.


The Southern sea lion (Otaria flavescens) is perhaps the archetypal sea lion in appearance. Males have a very large head with a well developed lion-like mane, making them the most lionesque of the eared seals.
These sea lions are the most sexually dimorphic of the five sea lion species and size and weight varies considerably.

Listed as a sub-species of the Rainbow Lorikeet, Massena’s Lorikeet Trichoglossus haematodus massena is also known as the Coconut Lory and in Bislama – Nasiviru.
While the Rainbow Lorikeet, through 21 different races is found throughout Indonesia, New Guinea, the Solomons and parts of Australia, Massena is found only in the Bismarck Archipelago (near New Guinea), the Solomons and throughout Vanuatu except Futuna and Lopevi.

The Royal Mail will issue a set of 10 stamps, a miniature sheet and a prestige stamp book to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of WWF on 22 March 2011.
Personally I find the design of the miniature sheet horrible. Also, I do not remember seeing a WWF stamp issue showing the animals not in photographic form.
