Five birds of prey stamps are to be issued by the USPS in January. They are expected to be released in time for the January 22 rate increase.

UPDATE: I received notice that the stamps will be released 20 January 2012 in Washington, D.C.

Kazakhstan issued  a se-tenant block of eight stamps on 14 December 2011 featuring urban birds.

The birds featured are: black thrush (merula furdus), titmouse (parus major), magpie (pica pica), grey crow (corvus cornix), myna (acridotheres tristis), rook (corvus frugilegus), blue pigeon (columba livia), sparrow (passer domesticus).

The USPS will issue six nondenominated Spectrum Eagle coil stamps on 3 January 2012.

The stamps will sell for 25¢ each in the self-adhesive format.

The Republic of Belarus will release a set of 3 stamps featuring Pigeons. A sheetlet containing 2 sets of the 3 stamps will also be available. Special cancellation for the first day cover will be available at the main Post Office in Minsk.

Azerbaijan issued on October 28 a set of 4 WWF stamps featuring the Short-toed Snake Eagle. The stamps are available in miniature sheets of 4 and 8 stamps. The 8 stamps (2 sets) miniature sheets comes in 2 different design versions.

The Macau Post Office will issue a set of 4 bird stamps on 11 September 2011. The birds featured are:
Light-vented Bulbul / Pycnonotus sinensis
Spotted Dove / Streptopelia chinensis
Yellow Bittern / Lxobrychus sinensis
Greater Coucal / Centropus sinensis

As with all WWF stamp issues, there will be first day covers and maximum cards.

The United Nations Postal Administration will be issuing the 2011 Endangered Species stamps on 7 September 2011.

The issue consist of 12 stamps, 3 maximum cards and a special silk cover.

Niue issued a set of 3 bird stamps on 6 July 2011.

Also released was a miniature sheet produced in the shape of two hega (Vini australis).  Bright green in colour, these parrots are adorned with a blue/purple crown and a red chin, throat, cheeks and upper belly.

Royal Mail will issue the fourth set of birds Faststamps on 16 September, one of three sets to be issued this year.

These will be sold from Post & Go machines at selected Post Offices across the UK.  There are 30 different value/design combinations in total.

The birds depicted in this issue are:
Puffin, Gannet, Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover, Cormorant and the Arctic Tern.

The South Africa Post Office issued on 15 July 2011 a set of five bird stamps, in sheets of 10, to coincide with the United Nations declaration of 2011 the International Year of the Forests.

Birds shown on the stamps are the green twinspot, olive bush-shrike, Cape parrot, Knysna turaco (lourie) and the African crowned eagle.

Listed as a sub-species of the Rainbow Lorikeet, Massena’s Lorikeet Trichoglossus haematodus massena is also known as the Coconut Lory and in Bislama – Nasiviru.

While the Rainbow Lorikeet, through 21 different races is found throughout Indonesia, New Guinea, the Solomons and parts of Australia, Massena is found only in the Bismarck Archipelago (near New Guinea), the Solomons and throughout Vanuatu except Futuna and Lopevi.

A set of four stamps featuring kingfishers will be issued on 26 October 2010 by Australia Post. The stamps are illustrated by wildlife artist Christopher Pope who was also the illustrator for the very popular song birds stamps of 2009.

Maxicards and a stamp booklet will also be released.

The Falkland Islands released a set of 4 stamps and miniature sheet featuring petrels and shearwaters on July 6.

Birdpex 2010 will be held from 9 to 12 April 2010 in the Antwerp Expo Centre, Belgium. This is the sixth bird-only stamp show in a series that is held once every four years.

This exhibition is open to bird stamp exhibitors of all levels. Not only stamp collectors will be invited but also maximaphily, postal history, traditional philately.

The international FEPA and the national stamp exhibition Antveperpia 2010 will be held in conjunction at the same venue.

Alderney will issue a set of 6 stamps on 24 may 2008 featuring birds found in the surrounding area.

Alderney’s wildlife continues to thrive and this is no more widely seen than in its bird population.
